The FTTH Council Middle East Group is pleased to announce that His Excellency, Eng. Charbel Nahhas, Minister of Telecommunications of the Republic of Lebanon has granted his Patronage to the second edition of the FTTH Middle East Conference, and is likely to give the opening speech of the event. 

Utility company IWB and Swisscom have formed a joint venture to connect every household in the city of Basel with fibre by 2017. The total investment will be CHF 174m, of which CHF 70m will come from IWB and CHF 22m from the district authorities in the form of an interest-bearing loan.

The FTTH Council Middle East Group is pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of the FTTH Middle East Conference, Taking Your Life to New Horizons, will be held on 30 November and 1 December 2010 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Lebanon’s capital city, Beirut. For the second time, the FTTH Council Europe is to reward innovators in the field of fibre access with the FTTH Council Europe Innovation Award 2011. Award winners will be announced at the prestigious FTTH Conference in Milan in February 2011.

On behalf of the programme-committee, the FTTH Council Europe invites you to submit a paper for the annual FTTH Conference, 9 – 10 February 2011 at the Milano Convention Centre, Milan, Italy.
